PUAEME008 - Provide Pain Management

 Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to administer restricted analgesics to provide pain management as part of a medically supervised first responder organisation.

It includes identifying the need for analgesia; accessing, preparing and administering restricted pain relief such as analgesics according to medically endorsed protocols; performing casualty handovers and completing analgesic use requirements.

The course is applicable for personnel from emergency services, volunteer organisations or organisations that provide a medically supervised first aid service.

Units of competency

Upon completion of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399

We issue certificates on behalf of ABC First Aid RTO 3399

Only if we have an Instructor call in sick

Our courses go ahead even if only two people turn up

Every person must use a DIFFERENT EMAIL

This will actually be more time intensive but we can assist

If you do not wish to do the pre course online 

Then when the group that has completed the online has finished 

You will need to stay behind and complete a workbook add another hour at least 

You are not fully booked on a course until payment has been received 

Many people unfortunately say they will pay on the day 

Then not turning up 

Which means that we may have refused someone else that position 

If you cannot pay online we offer many other choices 

Over the phone EFTPOS or come in and pay EFTPOS or Cash   

On the day of the course we will give preference to people who have met all the obligations including full commitment by paying prior to the course date 

If you notify us later than 5 days then no problem a full refund 

Less than 5 days but more than 24 hours 

We will offer you a reschedule or a cancellation fee of $25

Less than 24 hours unless you supply a medical certificate no refund 

We may at our discretion reschedule you for a fee of $25

If you simply call us on the morning of the course and say you cannot make it 

If  you can supply a sick certificate then we will offer you a reschedule 

In the event that you simply do not turn up and there is no communication 

Or we have to contact you 

We are under no obligation to assist you any further in any way

Including a refund or rescheduling  

There is a government department that states

If you cannot get on the floor and do two minutes of CPR

We cannot deem you competent this is ASQA 

We will do everything possible to assist you 

Including offering you a chair and a pillow etc

It is your decision we will only request you do the minimum of 2 minutes 

Then the rest can be completed on a table  

Very few people fail or are not yet competent 

If it is a genuine learning difficulty we will do our best to assist 

This has occurred normally due to peoples conduct and attitude

If the person shows disrespect for the class or the Instructor

They will be asked to leave without a refund 

This has occurred by continual texting phone calls 

not being on time from breaks etc 

we have noted this predominantly with people who are actually having the course paid for by a third party 

In this instance a report will be issued to the third party 

Lateness and inattention may preclude you from being deemed competent 

The criteria for being issued certification Includes :

Full Payment of the Course fees by yourself or the third party 

Fully Completed Paperwork signed filled in fully and completely 

Deemed Competent by the Instructor 

Once this has been met 

We normally issue the certificate within 1 to 7 days 

Except a weekend course 

Send the email address you have supplied 

If you call us in any longer than 1 month 

Then it will be taken that you have been issued your certificate by email 

Unless it is invoiced and the invoice is outstanding 

We are having people call us 

Stating they did not receive their certificate from 2 years ago

This is absurd what has probably occurred Is that they have misplaced the certificate 

I have instructed the manager this is unreasonable 

This search may incur a search fee of $25  

PLEASE be at least 15 minutes early

For the EXPRESS bring along a copy of an old certificate 

It is important that you are attired to do practical training such as kneeling bandaging CPR 

It is quite a busy day with two very short breaks bring along some food if you wish 

Or there is a small coffee shop close by  

PLEASE ensure you notify prior to the course 

There is actually very little writing etc in the course 

But reading may be important for the courses 

If you have difficulties 

it is your responsibility to bring along a person to assist you 

We can offer to verbally deliver the exams

in preference to the powerpoint or written but this may incur an extra fee for the Instructors overtime 

In addition if you have LLN difficulties

Then we can offer you a Verbal assessment task

after the course completion on the day 


99% of people have no problems with this 

If however you are unlucky 

Try changing browser or settings 

Send Shirley an email she will resend a link 

If after multiple attempts ensure you have booked and paid online then arrive 20 minutes early we will sort out a manual option for you 

For those that did not complete the pre course workbook there is an on course assessment after the group has left that have completed the pre course workbook

In the event the course has reached its maximum numbers then you will not be able to register 

There could be many technological reasons we send it as an intact link

If it wont open think about your browser options security options 

Some emails have their own difficulties

Do not use the same email address that some one else has

All we can do is re send the link also check your spam junk mail 

Unfortunately if you cannot complete the precourse study

Then the only only option is to Complete a multiple choice assessment 

After the completion of the practical course 

You receive your certificate by a digital certificate 

To the email address supplied to us by you 

After successful completion of your course 

Which Includes 

Online Enrolment 

Completion of the Online Learning Workbook 

Attendance of the Course Practical 

Being deemed competent by the Instructor 

Finalisation of course Payment by yourself 

OR 

Receiving a Remittance with your name from the company or Employment Agency 

It is sent by the RTO registered Training Organisation ABC First Aid 3399 

They send the certificate to you check this email site admin@abcfirstaid.com.au 

we are receiving too many unnecessary calls stating they have not received their certificate please check your spam etc 


Yes unfortunately these are government department impositions  

If you do not participate unfortunately you cannot do a course 

If you need a USI or you have forgotten yours you will have to visit their website

If you have changed your name or some of your contact details

Again you may have to go to their website 

AVETMISS is another data gathering Organisation of the Government 

We cannot assist with either of these mandates 

You need to apply online 

In Australia you cannot Enrol in Adult Education 

Unless you have completed both of these government imposed mandatories 

The pre course study is actually the easy option 

In the comfort of your own home or office complete the pre course study 

If you do not complete the pre course study 

You are welcome to attend the course 

After the participants who have completed the pre course study leave 

Please stay behind and we will organise a  multiple choice assessment

This normally takes about 1.5 hours 

It is important to get 100% 

Or you can return another day for a second attempt 

If you have Learning difficulties which you must disclose prior to the course to us

On the AVETMISS questionnaire 

In this instance we will arrange Post Course 

To complete a verbal assesment task with you allow about 1.5 hours 

We normally require you send your query by Email 

This way there is a written record of the conversations and history 

This is especially important if you need to relay informatiion such as the Unique Student Identifier etc 

You can of course call us we love to hear from you

However  we do not work normal office hours 

As we work weekends and evenings not normal office hours 

We normally have Mondays and Tuesdays away from the office

We are here to issue you a statement of attainment 

On successful completion of the course 

The RTO Co Provider does NOT guarantee that: A learner will successfully complete a training product on its scope of registration, or A training course can be completed in a manner which does not meet the requirements of Clause 1.1 and 1.2, or A learner will obtain a particular employment outcome where this is outside the control of the RTO *

This varies on group size level of interest previous history of group learning and disability

Yes we do have breaks 

Due to the busy day we have two breaks 

One of 15 minutes after the completion of CPR 

One about midday 20 minutes 

You can bring along food or drinks or there is a coffee shop close by 

It is important to be back from the breaks on time 

We have installed wool carpet 

This is great for the training 

However people have spilt food and coffee on the carpet 

This has cost us hundreds in cleaning 

Unfortunately we only allow water in the training room

There are lots of outdoor settings around

We have tried this to help people out with mixed results 

We unfortunately found that this caused distractions and disruptions to the course 

If you are breastfeeding you can make an appointment  for a person to drop by at the specified time to breast feed 

Sorry unfortunately this is training and we cannot afford the distractions to the Instructor and the group 

Our RTO Registered Training Organisation

Determines how the courses are conducted

This is something we have no input on 

However most of the enrolment and course study is completed prior to attending the day this is a big advantage 

If you have difficulty all we can offer is find a computer literate person to assist you 

If you simply do not wish to participate on the online pre course process 

We can do the manual long version 

Which will involve a  multi choice exam you must get 100% 

Allow about an extra 1.5 hours to the course guideline
